Probably the most popular Saint of all time, mostly because animals loved him. But the real reason he is the greatest, is that he is the first known to have the stigmata. This is an initiation of the highest order. One has to have tremendous devotion and attainment to have this to happen to them. They take on a portion of the sins or karma of mankind. They have the love in their hearts to take on this burden.
The stigmata also signifies the passing of tests to receive the Buddhic 5 secret rays. Look at some of the pictures coming out of the East. Notice the little eyes in the hands and on the feet. Same thing.
