A prayer flag is made of colorful cloth rectangles, often found strung along mountain ridges and peaks high in the Himalayas. Now you see them everywhere; their prayers lofted by the wind, spreading across the American landscape.
Prayer flags are believed to have originated with the Bon religion in Tibet. Once Padma Sambhava tamed the magical demons of Bon Shamanism, the prayer flag merged into the pantheon of Buddhist ritual items. This traditional prayer flag includes woodblock printed text and images.
Let's experiment with sending mantras imprinted on the flags, spreading good will and hope to all the planet, as these flags blow in the wind.
